Tottenham Hotspurs Dele Alli was once again on the scoring sheet for Spurs as they registered a convincing 2-0 victory over league leaders and title favorites Chelsea. The English Amidfielder scored a brace taking his tally to 10 goals this season.

Chelsea saw their 13-match winning streak come to an end as Spurs emerged victorious at White Hart Lane. Alli scored his third consecutive brace to clinch crucial three points which keeps Spurs in the title race who are now 7 points behind the leaders. A defeat would have seen them 13 points adrift off the top and potentially out of the title race.

Whereas Conte needed a win to maintain the gap between his rivals who are now starting to gain on Chelsea. The defeat now means that Liverpool are only 5 points below them ans Spurs and City both sit 7 points below. It still is a comfortable lead but two bad results and all could go wrong for the Blues who throughout the season have seemed unbeatable.

This fixture at White Hart Lane was a treat to watch because both teams knew a loss meant a threat to their title hopes . Let’s take a look at the A5 talking points from the London Derby :

A A1. Pochettino beat Conte at his own game.

Pochettino for the last couple of matches has switched to a back three, a formation identical to that of the Blues and it might have been in preparation for this game. The two full-backs playing higher up the flank meant that Chelsea couldn’t stretch the game to the wings and that proved to be the advantage Spurs had been looking for as they dominated the game.

Both Spurs goals came from the right flank which saw Kyle Walker shine. The right-back was at top of his game as he found Cristian Eriksen who delivered a fantastic cross to Dele Alli who headed it home.

Spurs have managed to keep 2 clean sheets out of the three matches in which they played 3 at the back and it seems the manager will opt for it in the future games too.
