Leicester City decided to unceremoniously sack Raineri even after an encouraging performance, in a 2-1 defeat at Sevilla on Wednesday.

Leicester City announced that Claudio Raineri was sacked as a search for new manager is on, with theAAssistant Manager Craig Shakespeare and First Team Coach Mike Stowel taking charge for Monday’s Fixture against Liverpool at home. Even as the 65-year old’s position was coming under scrutiny, the Premier League winning manager was yet touted to be there at the helm of the club. Even amidst terrible performances in the Premier League, where they lie just one point above the drop zone, sacking of the manager, who won the Premier League for the team last year is still shocking.

Leicester has lost seven of their last nine games and having just won five Premier League matches this season.

The club had the foolowing statement to make with regards to the sacking:

Claudio, appointed City manager in July 2015, led the Foxes to the greatest triumph in the Clubas 133-year history last season, as we were crowned champions of England for the first time. His status as the most successful Leicester City manager of all time is without question.A
