It has been a memorable season for Parthiv Patel. Leading Gujarat to their maiden Ranji Trophy title, making a comeback into the Indian Test team after eight years; and playing a key role in Mumbai Indiansa third IPL title. The 32-year-old diminutive left-hander calls it a a?dream seasona?.

Parthiv Patel hasAbeen part of the Indian Premier League since its inaugural season. He produced a career-best performance after aggregating 395 runs this year.

a?I am happy I have finished as the teamas highest run-getter but the most important thing is to win trophies and being a part of this set-up,a? Parthiv said on Monday at Mumbai Indians’ press conference.

a?Every time weave had a good opening partnership weave always gone on to get the runs. A good start especially in the 20-over format helps the bigger players like Rohit and Pollard to play freely,a? he said.

Mumbai won their record third IPL title and Parthiv believes it was the unity and humility that helped them win.

Parthiv Patel’s Dream Season

Speaking of his season, “I am enjoying and have been at the peak of my game, had a great year; winning Ranji Trophy (for Gujarat), making a Test comeback (for India) and winning IPL and playing well in IPL. If I keep doing it, rest of the things will follow.”

Parthiv also picked his Test comeback and the Ranji Trophy triumph with Gujarat as the other defining moments this season. He led Gujarat to victory over Mumbai in the Ranji final with a match-winning 143 in the second innings.

Parthivas call up in the Test series against England late last year marked his comeback after eight long years. a?Iam really happy to have made the comeback. It has always been a dream for me to play in a Test before I finish off,a? said the 32-year-old.

Despite consistent performances, Parthiv missed out on selection for the Champions Trophy, but he is not losing sleep over it. a?Honestly, I donat worry about selection anymore. I am old enough and been around for years. I donat play cricket to get selected.a?
