Even at 37, it seems that Eidur Gudjohnsen still wants to play football and it’s admirable.

He signed for FC Pune City as their marquee players, replacing the Romanian Adrian Mutu. Having worked under both Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola, the Icelandic man will bring tons of experience and hopefully a lot of goals.

Eidur started his career with PSV, but then a series of injuries forced him back to Iceland and local football. However, his unwillingness to never give up eventually paid off and he was signed by Bolton Wanderers in 1998. Chelsea saw the potential he had and they signed him for 4 million pounds. Gudjohnsen went to score 78 goals in 280 appearances for the Blues before shifting to Barcelona. Lack of game time saw him move from club to club before returning to Bolton 14 years after he left.

Influential in the recent Euros for Iceland, even though he barely played, his experience and leadership qualities were definitelyAhelpful asAIceland beat England and reach the quarterfinals. So as the 37 year old gets a new start in India, here are some interesting facts about the man:
